We keep the data we collect to the minimum needed to run the service.
Your Alpaca API keys stay in your browser. When you choose to embed them in a downloaded bot, they are written directly into that file on your device — they are never transmitted to or stored by AlgorithmFin.
To authenticate you, run backtests, save your work, process your subscription, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
We rely on a small set of processors to operate: Supabase (accounts & database), Stripe (payments), DigitalOcean and Netlify (hosting), and Alpaca (market data). Each handles data under its own terms.
You can request access to or deletion of your account data at any time by emailing us (see Support). Deleting your account removes your saved strategies. We use cookies only for sign-in/session purposes, not tracking.
The service is intended for adults (18+). It is not directed at children.
AlgorithmFin provides software to build, backtest, and generate code for automated trading strategies. It is a research and educational tool only. Nothing in the app, the generated code, backtest results, or any content is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security. AlgorithmFin is not a broker-dealer, exchange, or registered investment adviser and does not execute trades or custody funds.
The presets, signals, and any example strategies are neutral building blocks, not suggestions to trade a particular way. You are responsible for evaluating whether any strategy is suitable for you, and for consulting a licensed professional if you need advice.
Backtests are simulations on historical data. Past performance does not guarantee future results. Simulated results can be over-optimized ("over-fit") and often will not repeat in live markets. Real trading is also subject to slippage, fees, and execution differences a backtest may not capture.
Automated trading can lose money quickly, including from bugs, connectivity issues, or unexpected market conditions. Always run your bot in Alpaca's paper (simulated) mode and confirm it behaves as intended for a meaningful period before ever using real funds.
Trading securities involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. You may lose some or all of your capital. You alone decide whether and how to trade, using your own brokerage account and your own API keys, and you are solely responsible for the behavior of any bot you deploy.
If you embed your Alpaca keys in a downloaded bot, that file contains credentials to your brokerage account. Keep it private and never commit it to a public repository or share it.
The service and any generated code are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AlgorithmFin and Ball Knowledge LLC are not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, or any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or any code it generates. You agree to use the service at your own risk.
